Final Fantasy VIII

Final Fantasy VIII, developed by Square (Square Enix now) is a 1999 role-playing video game developed and published by Square (now Square Enix). This is the 8th major installment in the Final Fantasy series. Set on an unnamed fantasy world with science fiction elements, Final Fantasy VIII follows the story of a group of young mercenaries, led by Squall Leonhart. They are members of an organization named SeeD. Initially traveling to different countries to stop the sorceress Edea, their goal changes to stop a sorceress from the future named Ultimecia from compressing time.
Story:

Squall, a member of an elite military team, is forced into a conflict beyond imagination. To survive, he must fight against a desperate rival, a powerful sorceress, and his own mysterious dreams.

This is a breathtaking, expansive and emotional adventure. An epic story designed based on the theme of love, set in a massive new world,

Final Fantasy VIII features 3 main modes: the world map, field map, and battle screen. The world map is a 3D display. In this map, players may navigate freely across a small-scale rendering of the game world. Characters will travel across the world map in various ways, by foot, by car, by Chocobo, by train, or by airship. The field map has controllable 3D characters overlaid on one or more 2D pre-rendered backgrounds. These backgrounds represent environmental locations such as towns or forests. The battle screen is a 3D model of a location such as a street or room. Turn-based fights between playable characters and CPU-controlled enemies will take place just right there. The interface is menu-driven but with new features such as the Junction system.
Final Fantasy VIII features nearly an hour of stunning motion-captured CG cinemas seamlessly integrated into gameplay.

Mortal Kombat

Mortal Kombat, a video game franchise, was originally developed by Midway Games' Chicago studio in 1992. Then, due to Midway's bankruptcy, the Mortal Kombat development team was acquired by Warner Bros.
Mortal Kombat is a fantasy-themed fighting game. The original game has spawned so many sequels and has been spun off into many action-adventure games, films, television series, It has become one of the most successful fighting game in the history of video games.
Fatalities or finishing moves are series that known for its high levels of bloody violence. These finishing moves require a sequence of button inputs to perform.

Half-life

Half-Life is a first-person shooter that requires the player to perform combat tasks and puzzle solving to advance through the game. Unlike most of its peers at the time,Half-Life used scripted sequences, such as a Vortigaunt ramming down a door, to advance major plot points. Compared to most first-person shooters of the time, which relied on cut-scene intermissions to detail their plotlines,Half-Life's story is told entirely by means of scripted sequences, keeping the player in control of the first-person viewpoint. In line with this, the game has no cut-scenes, and the player rarely loses the ability to control Gordon, who never speaks and is never actually seen in the game; the player sees "through his eyes" for the entire length of the game. Half-Life has no "levels"; it instead divides the game by chapters, whose titles flash on the screen as the player moves through the game. Progress through the world is continuous, except for breaks for loading.

The game regularly integrates puzzles, such as navigating a maze of conveyor belts, or using nearby boxes to build a small staircase to the next area the player must travel to. Some puzzles involve using the environment to kill an enemy, like turning on a steam valve to spray hot steam at their enemies. There are few "bosses" in the conventional sense, where the player defeats a superior opponent by direct confrontation.

Mario

Mario is a fictional character in the Mario video game franchise, created by Nintendo's Japanese video game designer, Shigeru Miyamoto. Serving as the company's mascot and the eponymous protagonist of the series, Mario has appeared in over 200 video games since his creation. Depicted as a short, pudgy, Italian plumber who resides in the Mushroom Kingdom, his adventures generally center upon rescuing Princess Peach from the Koopa villain Bowser. His younger brother is Luigi.

The Mario franchise is the best-selling video game franchise of all time. Over 210 million units of the overall Mario series of games have been sold. Outside of the Super Mario platform series, otherMario genres include the Mario Kart racing series, sports games such as the Mario Tennis and Mario Golf series, role-playing games such as Super Mario RPG and Paper Mario, and educational games such as Mario Is Missing! and Mario's Time Machine. The franchise has branched into several mediums, including television shows, film, comics and licensed merchandise. Since 1995, Mario has been voiced byCharles Martinet.

Abilities:

During the development of Donkey Kong, Mario was known as Jumpman.Jumping—both to access places and as an offensive move—is a common gameplay element in Mario games, especially the Super Mario series. By the time Super Mario RPG was released, jumping became such a signature act of Mario that the player was often tasked with jumping to prove to NPCs that he was Mario. Mario's most commonly portrayed form of attack is jumping to stomp on the heads of enemies, first used in Super Mario Bros. This jump-stomp move may entirely crush smaller enemies on the stage, and usually deals damage to larger ones, sometimes causing secondary effects. This attack often enables Mario to knock the turtle-like Koopa Troopas into or out of their shells, which can be used as weapons. Subsequent games have elaborated on Mario's jumping-related abilities. Super Mario World added the ability to spin-jump, which allows Mario to break blocks beneath him. The Game Boy version of Donkey Kong allowed Mario to jump higher with consecutive jumps, and perform a back-flip. In Super Mario64, Mario gains new jumping abilities such as these: a sideways somersault; a ground pound, which is a high-impact downward thrusting motion; and the "Wall Kick", which propels him upwards by kicking off walls.

Reception:

As Nintendo's primary mascot, Mario is widely considered to be the most famous video game character in history, and has been called an icon of the gaming industry. The Mario series of video games has sold more than 500 million copies (510 million as of 2015), making it the best-selling video game franchise of all time. Mario was one of the first video game character inductees at the Walk of Game in 2005, alongside Link and Sonic the Hedgehog. Mario was the first video game character to be honored with a wax figure in the Hollywood Wax Museum in 2003. In the 1990s, a national survey found that Mario was more recognizable to American children than Mickey Mouse. Mario has also been called the "most recognisable" figure in the gaming industry.

Sonic

Sonic the Hedgehog is a platform video game developed by Sonic Team and published by Sega for the Sega Genesis console in 1991. The game was released in North America, Europe and Australia on June 23, 1991, and in Japan the following month. It stars Sonic the Hedgehog in a quest to defeat Dr. Robotnik, an evil scientist who has imprisoned animals in robots and stolen the magical Chaos Emeralds. Sonic the Hedgehog's gameplay involves collecting rings as a form of health and a simple control scheme, with jumping and attacking controlled by a single button.

The game's development began in 1990, when Sega ordered its AM8 development team to create a game featuring a mascot for the company. After considering a number of suggestions, the developers decided on a blue hedgehog with spikes along his head and spine and renamed themselves "Sonic Team" to match their character. Sonic the Hedgehog, designed for fast gameplay, was influenced by the games of Shigeru Miyamoto. It uses a novel technique that allows Sonic's sprite to roll along curved scenery, which originated in a tech demo created by Yuji Naka.

The game was well received by critics, who praised its visuals, music, and speed of gameplay. The game was also commercially successful, establishing the Genesis as a key player in the 16-bit era and allowing it to compete with Nintendo and their Super Nintendoconsole. It has been ported a number of times, and inspired several clones, a successful franchise, and adaptations by other media.
